Staff Spotlight: Meet Joey!

For our May staff spotlight, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Joey Petracca, Chicory’s Co-Founder and COO.

Joey founded Chicory with CEO Yuni Sameshima their junior year at Colgate (Go Raiders!)  Now, over seven years later as the Chief Operating Officer, Joey takes the meaning of the title above and beyond its typical meaning. Not only is he an essential component in driving the day to day operations of the business forward, Joey also serves as head of product and regularly jumps into sales to help with strategic client discussions. His unique background and experience has allowed him to position Chicory's product offerings to clients in unique ways that highlight solutions for any problem or ask. Fun fact: he bootstrapped a few of Chicory's current error pages and taught himself SQL in order to dive deep into analytics and reporting troubleshooting.

Joey hails from California, and while he’s partial to the great outdoors, he’s found a home in New York City. For now, though, he’s quarantining with fiance Kelsey safely on Cape Cod, with their adorable pitbull, Hank. They rescued Hank when he was eight months old and he’s been part of the family for over two years now! Hank’s favorite thing in the world is eating trash off the street and his least favorite is any kind of hot pepper.

While he touts that Chicory is the only job he’s had, it’s well known throughout the company that Joey has done everything under the sun from publisher acquisition to sales and product management. The cornucopia of roles he’s held culminate in his encyclopedic knowledge of all things Chicory! And more than that, he’s eager to jump right in and share that knowledge whenever needed.
