Staff Spotlight: Joe C.

This month, we’re introducing Joe Chey into the Staff Spotlight. Joe is our Product Manager and joined our team in February 2021. 

Joe joined our Product team — led by John — after being a web application developer. 

Joe is an innate problem solver. Chicory’s contextual commerce advertising platform is multi-sided, involving different entities with intertwined sets of interests. As a Product Manager at Chicory, Joe looks at problems with wildly varying sets of lenses from large publishers to small bloggers, food brands, retailers, grocery shoppers, and even internal administrative users. 

“It is both fun and challenging to sit at the intersection of these different perspectives and maximize the value we can create as a company,” he shared.

We asked Joe to share a reason he liked working at Chicory.

“I find Chicory's culture of communication to be very worthy of respect,” he said. “It is very easy, and often encouraged, to refine your ideas/thoughts by soliciting feedback from anyone, including the CEO.”

Joe studied Music alongside Computer Science at the University of Virginia. Today, he still enjoys doodling around at the piano! (If you're curious, check out jofi on Spotify, his casual lofi takes on classical music.) Otherwise, you might find him cooking up Gordon Ramsay's broccoli soup recipe!
