Staff Spotlight: Meet Janine M.!

This month, we welcome Janine Miller, People Operations Coordinator, into Chicory’s Staff Spotlight! Janine joined the team as our People Operations Coordinator in March 2022, teaming up with Angela, Chief of Staff, on hiring and culture initiatives here at Chicory. 

As People Operations Coordinator, Janine’s priority is making sure people feel good in their roles and have the support they need in every aspect of life at Chicory. She advocates for and nurtures our strong company culture by planning fun and inclusive company events, like our shuffleboard party and virtual drag bingo. And of course, Janine is a major driver behind our hiring processes. She’s likely the first person at Chicory you’ll meet if you’re looking to join our team.

“I love working to create a seamless interview and onboarding process for our new hires, especially in this time of growth,” she shared. “I also get to answer the day-to-day questions of our Chicory team members. I learn something new about my coworkers every day and am constantly surprised and impressed. I love getting to know them on a deeper level.”

Throughout her career, Janine had always been excited about the employee experience, streamlining processes, and building upon company culture, and was thrilled to officially make this shift into the People Ops space at Chicory! Previously, she spent seven years in supply and demand planning in beauty, fashion, and kitchenware before discovering her true passion for the people operations space.

When she’s not leading the charge in making life at Chicory great, Janine loves traveling. She studied abroad in Prague, so she can tell you about all the secret spots there! On any given weekend, you can catch her biking down Riverside Park towards the 96th street tennis courts, playing in her softball league, or catching an off-Broadway show. She’s also an avid reader and loves watching home renovation shows, playing tennis and spending time with her two sisters.
