Product Manager

Chicory is looking for a Product Manager to help shape the future of Chicory’s ecommerce and digital media products. You will be representing a venture capital backed, industry-disrupting organization with transformative products and solutions. The products they interact with range from consumer facing tech to digital ad tech to internal dashboard and business intelligence tools. This role will get to touch all those products and is central to the future of how our clients, partners and co-workers use, perceive and work with Chicory. 

As a Product Manager at Chicory you will be our first product hire and will:

  • Define the role of product management at Chicory

  • Report directly to our COO and Co-Founder

  • Lead the improvement of our existing products and the creation of new products

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage product development process for long term projects and short term work (proactive and reactive work) 

  • Understand all product and technical details of owned products

  • Create and maintain proper product and technical documentation for owned products

  • Work with marketing team to ensure proper representation of product capabilities in internal and external materials 

  • Research, develop and track quarterly product KPIs 

  • Conduct non-technical testing (UX, UI, Wireframes, User Research, etc) 

  • Create and manage product roadmaps for owned products including milestones, KPIs, etc.

  • Work with engineering to groom technical work

  • Work with internal stakeholders to assess needs and product requirements (typically reporting or ad hoc client requests) 

  • Write tickets that make it into JIRA and ensure proper user stories and details for all tickets 

  • Work with engineers to review and groom tickets before formal sprint meeting

  • Ensure all tickets in backlog are regularly assessed for prioritization and brought into planning sessions or removed 

  • Work with engineering leadership to organize sprint grooming and backlog in JIRA 

  • Properly manage and organize JIRA to create an efficient Sprint Planning process (bringing tickets in, kicking tickets out, etc) 

  • Assess urgent bugs or requests and be the gatekeeper of sprint scope changes 

  • Represent product at daily engineering standups to ensure prioritization of work 

  • Work with QA and engineers to ensure that engineering is delivering work as outlined in tickets and user stories and that all work meets user requirements 

  • Work with internal stakeholders to create and manage reports and dashboards to track all Chicory KPIs

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of product management experience

  • Experience with agile development process

  • Experience working directly with engineers 

  • Experience writing user stories and specs 

  • Experience with user research and methodology/best practices

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence

  • Experience creating user friendly documentation and user manuals 

  • Passionate about digital marketing or grocery industries 

  • Knowledge of SQL and Business Intelligence tools a plus

  • Detail oriented

  • Deep customer empathy 

  • Strong analytics skills 

  • Independent worker

  • Inquisitive, especially when it comes to software engineering 

  • Grasps complex concepts quickly
