Junior Marketing Designer

The Marketing team at Chicory is seeking a Junior Marketing Designer to focus on developing the materials that help us tell our story and our clients’ stories visually. This new addition to the team will work alongside the rest of the marketing team to create pitch decks, proposals, wrap up decks, mockups, campaign creatives and other miscellaneous brand materials. Tasks will require a keen eye for great, user-friendly design, while also honing the Chicory brand and style. Currently, the position will be primarily focused on graphic design work, but could develop into more product and UX design with the right candidate.
The position is a brand new role, so we’re looking for the perfect person to bring a strong point-of-view, positive energy and a hard-working attitude to our growing team of sixteen. Experience is great (we’d love to see candidates with internship or one to two years of professional experience), but more important are applicable skills, the right mindset and cultural fit. The role offers room for growth within the organization and will be tailored to the right person’s interests and strengths.
Work with account managers to understand client needs and produce ad creatives that match both client brand and Chicory style guides
Coordinate with AMs and client to make ad creative edits
Work with marketing team to produce visual elements for proposals, wrap up decks and pitches (ad mockups, custom slides, user flows)
Ensure Chicory style guide and brand guidelines are met on all outbound materials (mockups, decks, logo usage)
Maintain design library to ensure effective usage and re-usage of materials the marketing team as already produced, also discontinuing out-of-date materials
Produce custom graphics for marketing initiatives (infographics, social media posts)
Work with Marketing Director to develop visual representation of brand on key materials on a semi-annual basis (website, corporate pitch)
Dependent on interests and experience: work on UX projects, new branding campaigns, video production, photography, and/or illustration
Your background and capabilities
0-2 years in a design role, or relevant freelance experience (please provide portfolio if available/relevant)
Strong graphic design skills
Experience working with a specified style guide/brand guidelines
Ability to distill requests and data into an easy-to-read visual format
Creative, out of the box thinker
Desire to work at a startup
Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
Photoshop and Powerpoint skills
Ability to take feedback constructively
Bonus, but not required: photo editing, video editing/production, illustration, UX design
