As Chicory’s VP of Sales, you will be representing a venture capital backed, industry-disrupting organization with transformative products and solutions.

As the VP of Sales you will be responsible for ensuring that we hit revenue goals and build a world class sales team. You will lead the entire sales organization by example, carrying your own book of business while helping to coach/mentor sales reps. As our head of sales you’ll be in charge of developing a winning sales strategy that helps grow existing client relationships and develops new business. If you’re a sales leader who wants to build a sales team from the ground up, hit aggressive sales goals, and define the future of how food content, digital advertising, and online grocery interact then this role is for you.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop winning sales strategy to hit revenue goals including how to grow current accounts and prospecting new accounts

  • Work with marketing and client services to design best practices across all facets of the sales process

  • Work with product team to help implement improvements or design new products to keep Chicory at forefront of innovation in CPG industry

  • Develop sales hiring and training program

  • Design and implement processes to drive internal efficiency and better results for clients

  • Mentor, coach, and work with individual sellers to help them hit individual revenue targets

  • Carry own quota

  • Given size of current team expectation of time split at beginning is 30% management and 70% individual selling / working with individual sellers on accounts - player/coach role upfront

Your Background and Capabilities

  • 15 + years of sales experience

  • Desire to join a startup

  • Deep knowledge of the latest trends in CPG digital advertising , shopper marketing, and the grocery retail industry

  • Track record of selling new products / diversifying revenue streams

  • Track record of hitting aggressive sales goals

  • Experience in recruiting, training, and managing sales reps

  • Experience in selling digital media programs and software directly to brands and their agencies
